We have several social events planned around the May Ball and Review Dance... Please join us at any, or all, of these events for a chance to chat and catch up with your dancing friends.

THURSDAY, 1ST MAY
Start your San Diego weekend on Thursday evening, May 1st, with "Breakfast at Tiffany's". San Diego enjoys the unique Cinema Under the Stars, located in the heart of Mission Hills, on Goldfinch, half a block north of Washington. Relax in zero-gravity lounge chairs, wrap yourself in a (provided) warm cosy throw, and if the weather is chilly, radiant heaters warm the outdoor theater, as you delight in the beauty of this classic film.

More than a movie theatre, Cinema Under the Stars is a true San Diego experience. The garden is surrounded by twinkle lights, neon and ironwork sculpture, as bubbles float and tumble through the twilight before the movie begins.

May 1st is opening night for the summer season - tickets sell fast. You must pay for your tickets to reserve in advance, directly through ECD's own Tyge Legier. Please email him to make a reservation and guarantee your seat.
The show starts at 8:30 p.m. Reservation deadline is Monday, April 28th. Hope to see you there!

FRIDAY, 2ND MAY
Review Dance 7-9pm... then...

Supper... Please join us after the Friday Review Dance, for a social gathering, just down the road from Sweetwater Women's Club - a 2 mile drive. Denny's is holding a large separate section for us to enjoy supper, and convivial company. There is no need to reserve in advance - we'll have a show of hands at the dance, and phone the final reservation through.
Directions from the Review Dance venue to Denny's are here...

SATURDAY, 3RD MAY
The May Ball 6-10pm... then...

Please meet us at the City Delicatessen in Hillcrest. This is a fabulous, and fun filled New York style deli with a California Flair. Located in the heart of Hillcrest, you never know what you'll see. Costumes and hilarity are expected and enjoyed! We plan to go in our ball gowns and frockcoats... Please join us for lots of fun!

SUNDAY, 4TH MAY
On Sunday, late morning, please join us at 11am for lunch at The Prado Restaurant, located in the center of Balboa Park. This Italian-Latin fusion restaurant is a delight for all the senses. Nestled among palm trees and historic buildings, we will dine on the terrace overlooking the gardens and natural ravines of our beautiful Balboa Park. They are expecting our group, so please coordinate your reservation with Marcee Chipman

Following lunch, a short walk (only 50 yards!), takes us to the Spreckels Organ Pavilion. A free outdoor concert begins at 2pm, featuring our civic organist, Dr. Carol Williams on the Spreckels Organ, which boasts 73 ranks and 4518 pipes. Sit in the open air, as Dr. Williams brilliantly plays this magnificent organ which has been in existence since 1914. Reflect on the origins of Balboa Park in 1915 for the Panama-California Exposition, celebrating the completion of the Panama Canal.

Carol will be playing a programme of Regency Music which she has specially selected to complement our May Ball; for a preview of an event you will not want to miss, please go to the Spreckels Organ website, and click on Carol's page.

What a splendid way to end your May Ball Weekend in San Diego!
